Fallout 76 Player is So Good, Bethesda Banned Him
By Kasaix • 5 years ago

It's no secret that Fallout 76 had a rocky start and saw some bumps in the road as players explored a desolate wasteland of mutants and bugs. Despite all that trouble however, a player saw fit to sink 900 hours into the game. That's 37.5 days of dealing with mutants and psychopaths. I wish I loved a game that much to play that long. To quote the Doctor: Everything ends, and it's always sad. Someone in the comments is gonna finish that line, and I welcome that. In a reddit post linked HERE, the survivor who will outlive us all explained that his massive amount of hours played and premo loot earned along the way was so incredible, Bethesda accused him of cheating and banned his account.

His adventures in the post-apocalypic wildlands can be seen HERE. It's clear he loves this game. Apparently Bethesda themselves gave him props on that post. He put so much effort into a game roundly mocked for bugs, and Bethesda slapped him down hard. He gave his theory on why he was banned:

TLDR on why I think I'm banned, detailed fully below.

Character 1 on account A (1A) trades ammo to account 2.

2 trades ammo to 1B

1B trades ammo back to 2

2 trades ammo back to 1A

1A uses ammo until I decide what guns to specialize in

1A trades ammo back to 2.

Trading ammo back and forth involved dropping it on the ground/in containers and often picking it up with the wrong character. Literal case of fat fingering while tabbed on the wrong account.

So he traded with himself between two characters, I guess? I don't play Fallout 76, so I have no idea. Come to think of It, I bought Fallout 4 and it ended up in a backlog of games. But I digress. Trading with yourself doesn't look so bad. The hours played and the loot gained must have thrown flags for the big B. "No one can love our game that much! He's clearly cheating!" There's some self-esteem and confidence issues right there.
