Find Out Which Waifu is Strongest in Waifu Wars Splash
By Yung Namahage • 4 years ago

Have you ever come across something so absurd, you have no choice but to tell everyone you know about it? Cos I do, which is exactly why I do what I do.

Now, we all have waifus, but have you ever wondered if your waifu can beat up your friend's waifu? Thanks to ClemiNeko, we no longer have to wonder which girl is the most powerful. Waifu Wars Splash brings together a whole host of waifus as they battle for supremacy.

Its combat system is billed as inspired by Pokémon, which is pretty apparent. You choose a team of five waifus and go up against another team, before being faced with a turn-based combat system where each Poké- I mean, waifu, has a list of abilities that buff themselves, debuff or cause damage to the enemy. Each waifu has different stats and different elemental types which are either weak to or effective against certain other types. So far, so simple.

In fact, it's hard not to see the whole game as a bit simple. The music is fine and appropriate enough for a lighthearted Pokémon-esque game, but apart from that and the pretty neat battle effects there isn't much else that's really original. There are 40 waifus, all of which come from popular series as you can see above, so if your waifu is from a more niche title than you might be disappointed. The top five are unlockable through gameplay with the rest available from the start. Oh yeah, and they don't move at all. There aren't even any real character models, just still images of each character from their respective series, Luckily this game is free, or it'll probably cause some legal problems.

So unless you're a massive fan of Pokémon's combat and several of the waifus featured in this game, or you just want to experience the novelty of imagining, say, a Platelet defeating Ryuko Matoi, you're probably better off giving this a miss. But it's still pretty admirable that the game was created completely by a single person, and it's free, so it's not like you have anything to lose by checking it out.

If you're interested, download Waifu Wars Splash for Windows or Android here. Will you be checking it out? Is your waifu in the game? Let us know in the comments.
