My Bullied Bride Kicked Off Steam
By Kasaix • 5 years ago

Steam/Valve have clearly gone back on their word to not censor anything. Their platform has become as inhibited as Sony is and Nintendo was (still is? not sure). My Bullied Bride was once ready to go on Steam, but the powers that be decided to kick it off for the most idiotic of reasons.

A bit of background on this visual novel. The story follows an unpopular guy who protects a shy and unpopular girl from being bullied. Thankful for the rescue, she decides to become his wife/maid. Or as the devs put it:

"Mei has always been the target of bullies but that all changes when you confront her harassers. As someone not used to others performing selfless acts on her behalf, Mei wants to return your kindness however you desire. Enjoy this erotic tale of devotion between a gloomy girl and her lover."

Yes, there are sexy times to be had:

"MATURE CONTENT DESCRIPTION

The developers describe the content like this:

- Large portions of the game include nudity and graphic descriptions of sexual activities between characters older than 18 years old.
- The game contains sexual intercourse involving a virgin female and some blood is visible in these scenes.
- The female protagonist will unavoidably become pregnant by the end of the game, and will have intercourse while pregnant.
- There are scenes that depict verbal and physical bullying.
- The game contains characters who willingly participate in a 'Master' and 'Servant' relationship where a female character acts submissively towards a male character.
- Some of the sex scenes contain bondage and feature public sex."

Additionally, there is mosaic censorship, at the behest of the Japanese development team, confirmed HERE. It was rated 18+ and no one looked underaged, so all should have been fine. However, this is the new and diminished Steam, so of course there are problems. Possible, though idiotic, reasons include the setting, it's a high school. The character's ages aren't stated, but there's no way they can be mistaken for underage. Notice how I had to use a google cache to even show you fine folks of Doujins the game? They kicked it from the site. What's left is just a ghost of what once was. I certainly hope the devs can find another way to let their fans play the game.
