The player count has been going up for Overwatch 2 recently and for obvious reasons. Oh my bad, I misspoke. What I meant to say was that Overwatch’s player count has been going up as of recently, since Blizzard rebranded to taking the 2 out.



Overwatch is going back to the basics, and trying to gain back the good will that they’ve lost over the life cycle of Overwatch 2. And it seems to be working. Many people are happy with this new direction, and people are enjoying themselves. Still many complaints, but that’s always to be expected from these multiplayer hero shooters. But something not to complain about is Season 1 of new Overwatch dropping five new playable characters.

Taking a strategy from the Marvel Rivals play book, and just giving the player base a buttload of characters from the start. This was an easy way to get a lot of people, old and new, wanting to try out the game. And with sexy designs like Domina and Anran, it was a win, win situation.

I’m happy that it seems like a lot of people are enjoying Overwatch, and it’s looking like a positive move from them. I might not be hoping back into Overwatch, but everything doesn’t have to be for me. If others are enjoying it, then that’s a happy resolution in the end.
