Almost all the genre that exist in comics and manga also exist in doujins. Romance is a genre that anyone can enjoy. I mean, we all have experienced being in love, right? (Right?) In doujins, romance almost always leads to something sensual (and we wouldn't like it in any other way.) Let's look at some of the popular romantic doujins we have here for you to enjoy!
Es Series
Let's start with a romantic doujin that became my favorite the moment I read it. To be fair, it is more on the rom-com genre than just straight romance; still a good read though. This series was created by Goo-paaa and it's about the story of these couple who had a bizarre first meeting. This series has a lot of good reviews from the comment section too, that shows how good of a read this series is. I really recommend you guys to read this. Secret Love Consultation
Who doesn't love that childhood promise plot devise, right? This doujin is created by Katsurai Yoshiaki and it's about a romantic childhood promise of a boy to an older girl and time-skip to when the boy is in high school and the girl is now an adult. I just love how you can just scroll down and read some of the comments the readers put in there. Some just put comments for joke, others to express their mind regarding the doujin, and some just made the comment section a sort of forum for the doujin itself (which is amazing now that I think about it.) It's also a good read (both the doujins and the comments) and I would recommend it for you guys to read.
Zangyou Lover
Clumsy office lady and alcohol, what could happen next? Zangyou Lover by Shouji Nigou is a story about the said clumsy office lady and her dependable "Senpai" going out for a drink to blow off some steam from work. Again, the comment section are always fun to read; where the readers are acting as a page-by-page commentators.
I just love this whole page where they started to just like, have a conversation.
Lamia of Love
For me, romance is a story of love, focusing on a relationship between two persons. This doujin focuses on the relationship between a guy and a snake-girl. Lamia of Love by Horitomo is a romantic story of how a suprisingly petite lumberjack met a Lamia and fell in love. Horitomo, in particular, is a doujin artist that seems to draw a lot of monster girl. So, if you like Monster Musume, I think you'll love this!
Fragile and Tough
This one is from the author ShindoL, known for making weird, hardcore doujins. This time, he toned it down on the hardcore part but still retains that sense of weirdness (not that there's anything wrong with amputees, except, uhm...) So, yeah, Fragile and Tough is about a guy who... you know what, you should just read the doujin now. I won't spoil anything! I totally recommend this doujin, it is seriously a good read! Some of the readers even think so too!
