I’m not saying I have the best taste in anime, but I sure think I have better taste than whoever is running the Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

Now, you people here most likely already know my stance on Solo Leveling. It’s a good action show, but that’s it. Nothing else about it is really remarkable to me. Yeah, it has cool action, but is that really all you need to be Anime of the Year? Like Frieren: Beyond Journey's End had good characters, a good story, and GOOD ACTION!! It has everything that Solo Leveling has and more. Hell, Wind Breaker had better action than Solo Leveling. Hell, it had everything better than Solo Leveling, I would have rather seen Wind Breaker get Anime of the Year over Solo Leveling.

But this isn’t the real reason I think the Crunchyroll Anime Awards is complete ass. Oh no, the real reason I think it’s run by a bunch of people who don’t watch anime is because of what they decide to give the Best Original Anime Award to.

Let’s be fucking honest, who the fuck cares about Ninja Kamui? Hell, who even remembers that shit? The only thing it’s remembered for is being the Worst Anime of 2024. That is the only reward it deserves. People are really getting on Crunchyroll ass because of the reward they’ve been giving out, and they’re losing credibility. They’ve already been losing a lot of good will from anime fans over the years, and this is another example. They’re really becoming the IGN of anime, if they aren’t already known for that.
