If you always wanted to get into Evangelion, but thought the OG anime looked too old, or that it was too much material to watch just so you could barely understand anything. Well, that issue might be slightly fixed, with a new Evangelion anime series being in the works.



That’s right, the famous writer behind the Nier and Drakengard series, Yoko Taro, is writing for the next Evangelion anime series. Truly a match made in heaven, and a super exciting reveal. I never watched the Evangelion movies, but enjoyed the OG series back in the day. It was one of those cultural anime that everyone was talking about. But now, I can easily give my friends an Evangelion recommendation.

Now will this new series top the first Evangelion? Most likely not, and I don’t think that should be the goal. I think this should be seen as an extension of the Evangelion universe, and a different thing altogether. It shouldn’t be compared to the OG series, and seen as its own project. This is going to be big when it finally releases, and could be cool to see a Evangelion game come from this venture. 

And video game collabs don't count.
