Oolay: I’ve been doing all kinds of voice acting for 3 years now! I left my highly stressful job last year, and have been doing voice acting from home full-time ever since. I was as surprised as anyone that it’s paying my bills so far.
Kinky: Why did you start making erotic audio?
Oolay: It actually all started as a joke! The story goes, I was really into ‘Undertale’ and liked the character Toriel (she’s a big goat lady), and I’d seen a LOT of porn of her on my dashboard, but it got me thinking…what would this character actually SOUND like in bed? So I made a very short audio of her moaning, and at the climax? Screaming goat meme. Get it? 'Cos she's a goat...? Hahaha...ha...People loved it though, and I thought hmm, let’s experiment with this…The rest is history!

Kinky: I’ve always wanted to do things with my voice but every time I try, I cringe a little bit, not liking the sound of my own voice. Other people say that I sound fine but I always believe that they’re just trying to be nice. Did you have a problem with the sound of your own voice?
Oolay: Everyone cringes at recordings of their own voice, because not to be too technical but, you hear your own voice differently and more deeply when you talk because it’s vibrating in your own skull! SO when you hear a recording, it’s usually a lot higher than you expect and often unrecognizable. I always thought I had a naturally deep voice, then when I started recording I was like EW?! NO. SO GIRLY. Voice acting will really get you familiar with how your voice actually sounds, so keep recording and listening and eventually you will get over it.
Kinky: Was there any fear within you when uploading you first audio, like judgment from others?
Oolay: Funnily enough, at first it was exciting and everyone was very supportive of everything I was making! The perks of being an unknown on the internets. But it only takes one or two bad experiences from people who judge you to make you more guarded, nowadays I do get a bit of hate but I have a much larger fanbase to back me up!
Kinky: Do people that are close to you know that you do erotic audios or do you keep that information on the down low?
Oolay: Nobody IRL knows about the erotic audios I do, I’m pretty vague about exactly WHAT kind of voice acting I do XD;
It’s because well, who wants their parents knowing about this stuff? Even people my age can be judgey, so I’d rather just completely separate my internet and real life. I've met many amazing people through doing this though, and I feel comfortable being open with them about the NSFW work I do.
Kinky: I hope one of those amazing people will soon be me :). Is there a specific type of audio that you enjoy doing?
Oolay: I really enjoy character acting, I’ve branched out recently and have done a lot of audios where I attempt an impression of a well-known character. My most well-known ones are Peridot and Garnet from Steven Universe, along with Harley Quinn. Original stuff will always be better for me, because I have the freedom to really put my all into making the character REAL! I have a 'Mommy' character that I sometimes use for gentle femdom audios, stories and erotic readings.
Kinky: Do you do anything to prepare your voice before you start recording?
Oolay: Yes, most definitely I have to! I have allergies so a lot of err…’clearing’ needs to be done before even attempting to start. I also do scales, and try to clear any hitches from my voice as a warm-up, and drink plenty of water. Gotta keep it moist ;P
Kinky: This is kinda embarrassing to ask and it might be kinda embarrassing for you to answer. Do you play with yourself while recording?
Oolay: I’m not sure why people think that I would! I actually very much resent this question because it’s my most common one that I receive…but I try to take it as a compliment these days, must mean my acting is good then if it sounds realistic.
But no, never! It’s not necessary, it’s acting and nothing more. It’s hard work to get the acting right, and you’ll hear in most of my bloopers that I am either swearing or laughing at myself while recording!
Kinky: Oh no, I hope me asking that didn’t take me off the amazing people list :(.Your moans, sloppy blowjob sounds, and your cries of pleasure are music to my ears! But can that mouth sing tho?
Oolay: You mean the character's sounds XD I am not a good singer, although it doesn’t stop me from singing along to every 70-80’s rock song I hear…I want to take lessons one day though, I feel it would help with job opportunities!
Kinky: Is there a reason you started doing fictional characters or were they just requested to you?
Oolay: I like fictional characters more than real people HAHA! I HAVE been asked on occasion to make ‘celebrity sex audios’, but it feels largely disrespectful. I’d rather stick to characters who aren’t real to avoid offense (although Tumblr still manages to get offended over that!) Basically a lot of the allure in my work is that it IS fictional, and probably can't happen IRL. Most things are messed up IRL, but in fantasy it's fair game.
Kinky: Your Final Fantasy XV audio with Cidney is one of my favorites. (I was kinda sad that it was Gladio and not Prompto. Cindy could have taught Prompto the ropes) Your voice was pretty spot on for her. Are there any characters that you had trouble capturing their voice or weren’t personally satisfied with your performance?
Oolay: Thank you! I’d never played the game so I’m happy there was a likeness. There is one in particular that makes me cringe to this day…it’s ‘The Girlfriend Experience’ featuring my one attempt at doing Tracer from Overwatch. The script was bad to begin with, with the writer obviously using as much cockney jargon as possible, and he also wanted me to record line-by-line which makes the entire thing feel horribly unnatural. It’s made worse by the fact it is one of my most popular, with over 131,000 plays on SoundGasm.
Kinky: You have many audio featuring Toriel. Are you fond of her?
Oolay: Toriel will forever have a place in my heart! She was the guinea pig that started it all; because she doesn’t have a canon voice I was free to come up with one for her. And I made many, many NSFW audios as experiments and to gain experience in voice acting. Not having to focus on doing an impression gave me the freedom to really cut loose and focus on the acting! As a result though, her voice changes depending on which audios you listen to.
Kinky: Toriel doesn’t have a voice in the game, so what made you go with the voice that you’ve made for her?
Oolay: Toriel, to me, is always smiling, so I am smiling while acting as her and I feel it comes through into the voice as well. I wanted her to be well-spoken, slightly posh as she is royalty, and most of all; motherly (or…MILF-y…). I wanted her to have the ability to go from the caring mother to the femdom MILF of your dreams!
Kinky: Do you have a favorite audio?
Oolay: The favorite one of mine, personally, is a college-aged Mabel x Dipper one I wrote (or ‘Pinecest’). It was highly experimental, with my boyfriend and I recording it LIVE over Skype for the very first time! The result was extremely natural, heartfelt and well…hot >3>;;
Kinky: Your voice can now be heard in various indie games and animations. How did it feel when you first started voicing for projects like that?
Oolay: That’s true! Some have said that my voice just keeps popping up over and over haha! One of my first times was actually for the amazing z0nesama! I know, I couldn’t believe it either…I had largely made a name for myself with just pure audio skits, but game and animation dev’s started taking notice and he was one of them. He took a chance on me and hired me to be Kylie in his ‘Ghostbusters xxxTreme’ animation, which was his longest to date. I was extremely nervous (I used to watch his hentai movies over 10+ years ago), but it was a success! Ever since I’ve been addicted to voicing animations and games, I love collabing and seeing what these talented people can do! Animation is one of my greatest loves in life, so to breathe life into them with voice is a dream come true.
Kinky: Do you want to expand your voice into bigger things like commercial games and anime, or are you fine with where you are right now?
Oolay: Absolutely I do! The only problem is, I am in Australia…The animating/voice acting scene here is almost completely barren. I will feel like I have ‘made it’ if one day, I am invited to a recording studio. If that day never comes, I am happy enough doing everything over the internet though!
Kinky: You also draw. Is that a side thing or do you plan to expand your art to more avenues?
Oolay: Art was actually my main bread and butter before the whole voice acting thing! I have a BA degree qualification in Graphic Design. I work for a few gaming studios here and there for character designs, but nothing to huge as of yet. I like to have my fingers in many pies at once~
Kinky: Your drawing of your mascot seemed to be that of a pink sheep or ram and many other of your drawings feature humanoid animals. Are you a furry? (No judgment here on Doujins.com. I’ll fuck Rouge the Bat from Sonic any day of the week.)
Oolay: I have 0 attraction to furries, and I don’t consider myself one. The thought of animal genitals in particular really squicks me (I don’t even voice in animations if I consider them ‘too furry’)!
I created my pink sheep character as I thought her quite cute and I needed a mascot, though, it’s really no different from drawing a human - just with a tail and ears.
You might be disappointed to know that despite what erotic audios I make, IRL I’m rather vanilla haha!
