RIP Flash, But Here's How You Can Play Your Old Favorites
By Yung Namahage • 3 years ago

Since the start of this year, Adobe have officially given up on supporting Flash Player. They highly recommend people uninstall the software before January 12, when they'll automatically begin to block Flash content from running in Flash Player.

If you've been around on the internet as long as I have, you've probably encountered Flash Player at some point. Any game you played or movie you saw online, there's a good chance it was running on Flash. Personally, I remember a few fighting and shooting games I played when I was 11 on sites like Newgrounds and Miniclip, like Heli AttackAlien Hominid and Electricman 2

Was there ever even an Electricman 1?

Another kind of game that was big on Newgrounds were the Meet-n-Fuck parodies, which introduced a lot of horny young people to hentai and Rule 34. The art wasn't always great, but the novelty of seeing animated sex was enough for us.

Thank god our standards have improved since then

If you're feeling nostalgic over Flash games and videos you used to enjoy years ago, then you might want to check out BlueMaxima's Flashpoint archive project. It hosts over 70,000 games and 8,000 animations across 200 platforms, and is worth a look if you want a digital trip down memory lane. Take a look at the list of games here if you want to find something specific.

Did you ever use Flash back in its heyday? Which games and animations do you remember? Let us know in the comments!
