I'll admit I'm into ASMR now and then. I don't necessarily buy into the whole triggers thing but something about cute girls whispering lewd nothings into binaural microphones does something for me, especially when the ASMRtist is getting off at the same time. But how would an anime about ASMR work? Probably like this. 

180-Byo de Kimi no Mimi o Shiawase ni Dekiru ka? (Can I Make Your Ears Happy in 180 Seconds?) is an upcoming series of shorts produced by Indivision and EKACHI EPILKA. It's about a girl named Akari who gets into recording ASMR after buying a head-shaped binaural microphone, introducing her classmates to her new hobby and teaching her childhood friend (the viewer) about the world of ASMR.

Shiori Mikami (Akari Akaza in Yuruyuri) stars as Akari, Azumi Waki (Special Week in Uma Musume Pretty Derby) is Hikari, Suzuko Mimori (Umi Sonoda in Love Live!) is Shusui, Yu Serizawa (Shera L Greenwood in How NOT To Summon a Demon Lord) is Nanako, Kanae Ito (Suzuka Kurihara in Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya) is Udoku, Aoi Koga (Kaguya in Kaguya-sama: Love is War) is Kanako, and Sho Hayami (Azami Nakiri in Food Wars!) is Jiro.

I doubt the anime will go into the more NSFW side of ASMR like JOI and RP/fetish stuff, but it'll probably serve as a decent introduction to people who aren't familiar with it. Who knows, maybe it could inspire a new wave of ASMRtists who aren't afraid to get lewd.
