Could You Be Friends, With Your Dead Best Friend, Who's Not Actually Your Best Friend?
By ImJustThatKinky • 1 year ago

The title of this article reads like a light novel title. I know a lot of people are popping off and loving SummerTime Render, but if I’m being honest, I think the show is pretty decent. Nothing too crazy or ground breaking, just a pretty decent to good show. But, that’s not going to stop me from writing an article about the anime and a topic it made me think about. And that topic today is if you could still be friends, with your friend, if they’re not actually your friend…confusing I know, but let me explain.

My confused face.

So skip this article and explanation if you’re interested in the plot of SummerTime Render and don’t want any spoilers. So the main female character was the main male character’s friend in the past. She died and was pretty much cloned. The clone has all her memories before she died, has her exact personality, treats everyone the same way the original would have treated them. She’s pretty much the main female character just…not her. It’s a crazy concept that it’s not actually your friend, but it’s still your friend. Like, would I just act like they’re someone different but just similar to my old friend, or just keep talking to them and being friends with them like the person never died. It’s kind of a hard decision.

I thought about this long and hard, hehehe, but, I feel like I would just talk to them like it was still my old friend, but just remember in the back of my mind that the old friend is dead. So I won’t really use them as a replacement, more so just treating them the same way I would have treated my old friend. Still a really weird kind of interaction, and maybe something to get used to, but I wouldn’t want to push someone away when they mean no harm to me.

I also wouldn't mind fucking them too. Real or cloned best friend.
