We got ourselves another anime movie on the way, and this time, it’s a One Piece movie. The good thing is, it’s not an arc from the story that they decided to make into a movie, it’s a filler movie with some canon bits sprinkled here and there. Which could be a good thing for not rushing an arc and ruining the content, but could be a bad thing for sales.



Now as someone who doesn’t watch One Piece, I don’t have any desire to watch this movie, so they wouldn’t be getting my sale anyways. So that’s already one lost. And for the One Piece fans, do they really even care about some add on to their already amazing story? I know One Piece had other movies that pretty much build on pre-existing characters like Sabo, but I’m not sure how many people actually cared about those movies. I know from looking at past experience with the My Hero movies, non canon movies don’t sell as well as canon movies like Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen, so the One Piece Film: Red movie might just sell decently. But if it’s a flop, we atleast got a new One Piece waifu out of it.

But who knows, it is One Piece, one of the most praised manga out there. So hell, this might over sell Demon Slayer. I highly doubt it, but there’s always a chance that I’m wrong. But you guys already know that I’m always right.
