Late Hentai Translator Hong_Mei_Ling's Legacy Continued by His Brother
By Yung Namahage • 3 years ago

E-Hentai users had to wait a long time between uploads from hardworking translator Hong_Mei_Ling. After an absence of 15 months another doujin appeared under his name, but a comment underneath revealed the reason for such a long gap between releases is that Hong unfortunately passed away a year ago.

The comment, left by Hong's brother Thor More Gainz using Hong's acccount, basically states that Thor managed to gain access to his late brother's laptop, and has been steadily finishing off and uploading unfinished commissioned translation work he found on it, as well as Hong's own 3D doujin series Fiction Life of Ai Shinozaki. It says:

"I feel like I’m obligated to explain the situation, and make an apology on behalf of hong_mei_ling. I am Art Thor More Gainz, hong’s brother. I have helped him proofread and sometimes edit his translation commissions before. In February of 2020, Hong got into a motorbike accident. He was admitted to a hospital and went into a coma for almost a month. He never woke up, and finally died in march of 2020. I apologize to all the commissioners who never got their commissions done, despite having paid all/part of the fees hong charged them. So to shorten the story, I accidentaly found his laptop’s password on the back of his old phone case. His phone which had his discord account, email, paypal account, bank account was lost in the accident. I opened the laptop, and found everything he had inside, including one “unfinished” folder, which contained all of his unfinished commission works. He actually had finished translating all but one chapter of his accepted commissions but not one of them had been edited. So, I decided to finish what he started. I will upload all of his remaining comissions one by one every day, including his “fiction life of ai shinozaki”. He had all the scripts and scenes ready, and I just need to put the words inside the bubbles.

After thinking it through, I and hong’s friend, kuraudo, decided to keep his translation job going, under his old accounts. We want to keep his legacy, and do this as a full-time work. How I wish Hong did this full-time as well, so he didn’t need to go to his day job which ultimately cost him his life.
we will be very happy if you would still put your trust in us, and please contact us if you have unfinished matters with Hong. Thank you very much."
