Persona 5: Watch Joker in Smash in Style; Manga Series Licensed
By Yung Namahage • 5 years ago

In true Phantom Thief fashion, Joker stole the spotlight when he was announced as the first DLC guest character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Since then we've waited a long time to see Akira Kurusu/Ren Amamiya/Insert Your Chosen Name Here (I literally went with "Joker," FYI) in action, and now we can see him in his full, fabulous glory.

Using his handy knife, pistol and his signature persona Arsene, Joker proves he can go toe-to-toe with the likes of Mario, Link, Samus, Kirby and everyone else. Also included with him are a stage based on Mementos, alternate outfits inspired by Persona 2 & 3 and music tracks from 34 and 5. You can also catch a glimpse of some upcoming content that will be available for free in the Ver. 3.0 update, including a video editing mode and a stage builder.

That's not all in the world of Persona 5. Viz Media has announced they'll be releasing Hisato Murasaki's ongoing manga adaptation of the game. It originally launced in Japan in September 2016, and it'll launch in the west in Winter 2020. Perfect for fans of the game who'd want to revisit the original story, as opposed to the presumably altered story of Persona 5: The Royal.

Joker is available to download for Smash right now on the Nintendo eShop. Which announcement are you most excited for? What did you choose to call Joker in Persona 5? Let us know below as usual!
