Street FIghter 6 Announces Open Beta... Right Before Launch?
By WakeUpSnooze • 11 months ago

Street Fighter 6 is on the horizon now with only a few weeks until the big release on June 2nd. For fighting game fans, this will undoubtedly be the biggest debut of the year and gamers have been hyped as hell by the implementation of new game modes as well as some returning old content. This game seemed to be able to do no wrong, well, except not actually let people play it. The first two betas were closed which means you needed a lucky invite from daddy Capcom to get your hands on the sticks and engage in battle. Little Snoozy managed to get an invite both times and I consider myself quite lucky. Regardless, people complained about the lack of an open beta before launch. After the showcase with Lil Wayne, those hopes were all but dashed out as there’s not much reason to announce a beta after that press conference. Too close to release, logic would say. But fuck logic. You read the title.

Capcom has returned to save the community once again by announcing an open beta on the weekend of Friday May 19th. It will host the eight fighters available last time and give everyone a chance to test their mitts with the basics of the new installment. It will then wrap up on Monday the 22nd. Now here’s my question: this is very cool and it’s nice they announced it early enough for me to actually do an article on it, but fellas what the fuck about this is a “beta”? I doubt it needs explaining but betas are typically early versions of a game that the devs can use to test how a game will perform on a large audience and then take time to make adjustments and improvements before launch. What the hell improvements will they have time for before June 2nd my guy? That’s a measly 10 days before the big release. At this point I think they just did it to appease fans, because if they seriously expect to gather, analyze, and implement upgrades in that time before June 2nd I think they’re sorely mistaken. In another life it would probably be called a trial version, however since they already put out a demo perhaps they were worried players would get confused if they used a similar name.

Whatever the reason for this wacky last minute beta, you can bet your ass I’m going to hop online and, well, get my ass beat cause I’m used to anime fighters. BUT after a few hours of getting slapped up I expect to start putting the hurt on these boys. Are you excited for Street Fighter 6? Are you excited for the imminent lewds for Street Fighter 6? Is this a weirdly late announcement for an open beta? Strap on your gloves, step in the ring, and fap to Juri’s feet or Cammy's ass in the comments below!
